Robert & Sheelah Ayala

My name is Sheelah, I have been going to Victory World Outreach for about four months now. I never grew up in church or even really knew anything about God. I mean we celebrated Christmas and Easter and knew the word God, but never went to church or anything. I went a little wild in high school and shortly after graduating I moved out of my parents home and in with my now husband. We got along well and we partied every weekend and did whatever we wanted. We hosted many of the parties and had what we thought was a good time. Soon after all this parting we found that we were going to be parents. I had my daughter at age 19. We soon had to grow up real quick no more parties or going out. We stayed together and got married.

Soon after my daughter was born we began to fight, we fought a lot not big but a lot. We knew that we needed to go to church so we tried a few. None of the churches that we tried really cared or welcomed us in. We eventually stopped going all together. We then had our second child and we then knew that we really had to find a church.

Soon after that we saw a couple that Robert(my husband) knew and they told us about their nephew who just came back from Costa Rica and he was starting a church and we should try it. A few weeks later we went by to see it Pastor Blake came outside to see us. He invited us in to see the church and tell us a little about it and what time it started. We went that Sunday. It was great, the sermon was great it was like he was talking right to me. I mean it all was so clear and was easy to understand, even for me who knew nothing about the bible. A few weeks later I got saved and am so happy that I did. I now pray and am learning so much about God and life. I used to never pray or even knew what to say, but now I pray daily and by the way prayer does work my marriage is proof of that. I am so thankful for Victory World Outreach and Pastor Blake and his wife Karla. I now look forward to every day that God give me.

Chris and I had wanted to start attending a church, but we weren't actively looking. God led us to Victory World Outreach. I attended the first meeting at Pastor Blake's house and was led to tithe. Chris joined me the next week. We've been faithful to tithe each paycheck. In the beginning of September I was offered a clinic manger position, a position I had told Chris I wanted in March. Two days later, Chris was promoted. God has always provided for us but has recently began to give us the desires of our heart. (Plsams20:4)

We have too many to count but 2 that we are extremely thankful for.

We have been praying that the boys would turn their lives around for years. It was an answer to prayer when DeMarcus rededicated his life. We have been able to see him make better choices like working and coming to church.

We also have been going through a financial storm but in all that has been going on we have not wavered in our faith that God will bring us through. And that He has given us unspeakable peace in the middle of the storm.

We are so thankful for our new Acts 2 Church family.

About four years ago my wife Chris and I owned three companies grossing over one and a half million a year. Almost overnight through no fault of our own we were in bankruptcy with all three businesses due to changes in government policies. Not only did we lose our income but we had to foreclose on our home. My wife went through a nervous breakdown and went back to her home state of New York. I was left alone to try and handle the sale of the house and furniture to no avail. I then ended up living in a small two bedroom apartment after living in a $290,000 home with pool overlooking the lake. What a shock. Next thing you know my car was re-possessed and I was left to walk to get groceries and everything else. It was an overwhelming time since I had no family and few friends. When everything is going well in your life you have all the friends in the world but when things go bad they disappear. One day four months ago i noticed some construction going on in a small strip center near my apartment where I walked by each day. One day a tall man came out and said "We are opening a Church and you should come"(Pastor Blake Andrews). This was the furthest thing from my mind. But I went. After several weeks things started changing in my life by attending Victory World Outreach. Some extra money started to come in to take care of many past debts. I became closer to my three children whom I had not seen or been in contact in over 18 years. My now ex-wife and I are on great speaking terms across country and she is doing great and has even helped with some financial support. Every week something happens for me to help someone else or get help in some small way. The most dramatic example was one of my only friends in Dallas called one evening and said it was over and he wanted to end his life. I talked and prayed with him and the next day he called and thanked me for talking him out of it. If it had not been for the church and Gods power I don't think it would have worked. My Faith in God and Jesus has grown vastly and I'm finding companionship to help rebuild my life and help me influence others. It just keeps getting better.

It was a Saturday night when I decided to turn to GOD. Victory World Outreach had passed out invitations to an outside movie and I found a flyer in my door at home. I was on my way to a theater to watch a movie when me and my wife (separated at the time) had a huge argument on the phone. It was then that I realized how horrible my life had become and I decided to turn to God. I argued with my wife so long that I missed the start time to my movie and went back home. I found the flyer that Victory World Outreach had left on my door. Not just a flyer..... I found the Truth. It was time for me to go back to church after a long absence. I went to church the next day. Victory World Outreach does altar calls every service. It was that Sunday that I went to the altar and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Every since that day my life has slowly but certainly changed. My greatest testimony is that by the Grace of God my wife and I have been reunited. My testimony is simple. I used to drink everyday, I used to smoke cigarettes, I used to be separated from my wife, I used to pick up my daughter on weekends, I used to hang out in bars, I used to ignore my responsibilities as a husband and a dad, I used to push people away, I used to be selfish, I used to worry about money, I used to worry about how I looked through the eyes of everyone else except God. I USED TO LIVE MY life without GOD. I could go on and on about how my life has changed and what God has done in my life. Instead I would rather invite you to try God. When you are tired of trying to do things your way, try Gods way. You cannot earn Salvation. You can accept it through Jesus Christ. I have and I have NO REGRETS. "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" Phil. 4:13
